What Does Corporate Photography Cost in Northern Ireland?
Most photography websites answer this question with "get in touch for a quote," which is true but not actually useful to anyone trying to budget for a project. So here's a genuine starting point: a straightforward corporate or commercial shoot starts from £595.
That figure is a useful anchor, but it's only the starting point. The honest answer to "what does it cost" is that the final number depends as much on where the images end up being used as it does on how long I'm on site.
Usage is the real driver, not time. A photograph used on a company website and the same photograph used in a national advertising campaign are not the same job, even if the shoot itself looks identical from behind the camera. One reaches a few hundred visitors a month. The other reaches everyone the campaign is aimed at, for as long as it runs. Pricing that ignores this difference either overcharges the website client or badly undercharges the campaign client, and most flat day-rate pricing does exactly that. My day rate covers the shoot and standard business use, website, internal communications, social media, PR. Wider use, print advertising, packaging, national campaigns, is licensed separately, priced against what it's actually worth to the business using it, not against how many hours I spent on site.
Beyond usage, a handful of other things genuinely move the number:
Access and complexity. A studio headshot session and a day documenting a live industrial site are not comparable jobs. Safety inductions, restricted areas, drone clearances for aerial work, all of that is real preparation before a single frame is shot, and it's priced accordingly.
Turnaround. Rush delivery costs more than a standard turnaround of a few days, the same as any commercial trade.
Image count. Day-rate work includes a set number of finished images as standard, with straightforward pricing for anything beyond that. This matters more than it sounds: a shoot priced around "everything I shot" tends to cost more overall than one priced around a curated, edited set, since editing and retouching time is real time either way.
Travel. Belfast and the surrounding area is covered without a separate charge. Beyond that, it's a simple per-mile rate, nothing hidden.
None of this is designed to make pricing complicated. It's designed to make it fair, so a small business getting a handful of team headshots isn't subsidising a campaign shoot, and a company running a national ad isn't getting campaign-level usage rights at headshot prices.
If you're planning a shoot in Belfast or anywhere across Northern Ireland, get in touch and let me know what the images are for, I'll give you a straightforward number rather than a vague estimate.
